We know navigating a new site can bring up questions, and we’re glad you’re here. Whether you’re looking to add a clinician, update a listing, or just understand how everything works, we hope you’ll find your answer below. And if you don’t, we’re only an email away.
We cannot provide medical advice. This site can help you find a clinician who’s made a difference for someone else. It can’t replace medical care. Our team is happy to help with searching, submitting, or fixing a listing, but we’re not able to recommend a clinician for your situation or answer medical questions. If you need medical attention, please talk to your healthcare team or visit urgent care, and for emergencies, call your local emergency number.
How do I add a clinician to the directory?
Use the Add Your Clinician form, which takes just a few minutes. You’ll get a verification email afterward, and your submission appears in the directory once you click the link inside it.
I submitted a clinician but they aren't showing up. Why?
The most common reason is that the verification email hasn’t been clicked yet, so check your spam or promotions folder for a message from Clinicians Who Care. We send a few reminders, and unverified submissions are removed after about 120 days, so you can always resubmit.
How do I correct or update a listing?
Open the listing in the directory and click “Report an issue with this listing” at the bottom of its details. Tell us what’s wrong, whether the clinician moved, retired, has the wrong specialty listed, or anything else, then confirm through the email we send you, and our team will take it from there.
I'm a clinician. How do I remove or change my own listing?
Find your listing and click “Report an issue,” or use the form at the bottom of this page. Tell us you’re the clinician and what you’d like changed or removed, and we honor removal requests.
How do clinicians get into the directory? Can a doctor pay to be listed?
This resource was built by patients, for patients who have experienced compassionate care, and that’s something we want to protect. You can’t add yourself to the directory, and there’s no way to pay for a spot. If you’re a clinician reading this, we’d love for you to share Clinicians Who Care with your patients. If your care has meant something to them, they’re welcome to add you and share their experience in their own words.
How is this different from other review sites?
Clinicians Who Care is crowdsourced by patients, and it focuses only on the positive care they’ve received. This isn’t a review site. It’s a way to share about a clinician who made all the difference in helping you get answers, and to help others find clinicians with a reputation for supporting people who have faced challenges in the healthcare system. Many people come to this site after years of searching for a diagnosis, and we want their next step to be easier than the last one was.
What if I had a terrible experience with someone on this list?
We’re sorry to hear that, and we know how disappointing it is. Every clinician here is human, working within a broken medical system, and what felt amazing to one patient may not be a good fit for another. Because of that, one difficult experience usually won’t lead to a removal, since the list reflects real experiences rather than a perfect match for everyone. We do take reports seriously, and if a clinician has been convicted of a crime or found to have done something serious, we will review it. This is also why we ask people to write full descriptions of what a clinician did well, so you can read for yourself whether they sound like a good fit for you.
Is my information private?
Submitter emails are used only for verification and are never shown publicly. Your saved clinicians list lives only on your own device. You can find the full details in our Privacy policy.
Who is Dr. Bayo?
Dr. Bayo is a board-certified family medicine physician, nationally recognized health advocate, and the founder of Clinicians Who Care. She started this resource after sharing her own story on social media, about being dismissed for far too long before finally being diagnosed with lupus. So many people responded with stories of their own that she knew there needed to be an easier way to find clinicians who truly listen. Clinicians Who Care is her way of making that possible. You can find her on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook through DoctorBayo.com.
