A directory built by patients, for patients
Clinicians Who Care started from Dr. Bayo’s own story. As a college student, her symptoms were dismissed for far too long before she was finally diagnosed with lupus. Years later, as a board-certified family medicine physician and health advocate, she shared that story in a video on social media, and the response was immediate. Person after person commented that they had felt the same way, dismissed or lost in the healthcare system.
Clinicians Who Care is her answer, a safe space where people can find clinicians who provide care with real compassion, built from the community’s own experiences and recommendations.
Every entry starts with a patient who felt heard, someone whose symptoms were taken seriously, whose questions were answered with respect, and who took a few minutes to share that clinician’s name. When you share a provider who truly listened to you and helped you move forward, you’re throwing a lifeline to the next person searching.
Clinicians Who Care is a free community resource, funded and run by Dr. Bayo along with donations from community members who have benefited from it themselves. There are no ads, no fees, and no selling of data.
How it works
- Someone shares — a patient or colleague submits a clinician who provided compassionate care.
- They confirm — the submitter verifies their submission by email, so every new entry has a real person behind it.
- You search — filter by location, specialty, symptoms, and the qualities that matter to you, from “Listens & Believes Patients” to condition-specific experience.
