Childfree & Sterilization FriendlyListens & Believes PatientsLGBTQ+ FriendlyReproductive AutonomyI had what ended up being 5 ovarian cysts. A local obgyn refered me due to having excess scar tissue from a previous issue that killed my other ovary. When I was reffered to him, everyone there was fairly nice even tho I was a trans man in what is suppose to be a gynecologist office. Dr.carlson was very nice and respected my gender during the process and didnt hesitate to just remove the ovary since it could possibly save my life and trusted me that i would know what i wanted (there likely wouldnt have been much leftover but the previous doctor seemed convinced that a more skilled doctor could and would make me keep it) . When i got to the hospital the nurse walking me around told me that she actually planned to ask him to do her hysterectomy and he has agreed to do it after she gave birth. The surgery went really well all things considered. The scar is straight and neat and after seeing all the scar tissue in my abdomen he told me to go to him if I had any other issues in that area since he felt confident he could operate. The wound came open due to my own mistake and he restapled it shut and seemed genuinely confused and concerned for my well being. Just overall seemed like a lovely doctor. One of very few good experiences ive had.
