Never once tried to fearmonger about the risks, nor did he feel any need to try and talk me out of my desire to be sterilized as an unmarried, childless, 21 year old. Instead, he informed me of another surgical option of just removing my fallopian tubes (a double salpingectomy) as a means of sterilization that was just as effective as a hysterectomy, but carried a lesser risk of issues down the line. I am forever thankful to have found such a compassionate male gynecologist who supports the bodily autonomy of people with uteruses to make their own informed decisions in regards to reproductive health.
