I was 27 when I decided that I was ready for sterilization. It was the year Roe v Wade was up at the Supreme Court so it was a super hot topic. When I did my initial meeting with Dr Engorn I was super anxious because I thought I was going to have to fight for her to consent to me having the procedure. I told her about my feelings and she asked me why I felt that way. She told me based on my medical history and long term considerations, I was a good candidate. No "fight" required My body my choice. During consult, she also told me that insertion of an IUD for hormonal regulation while I was under anesthesia could help me long term, as well (and that I would not have to experience the pain of the in-office procedure if she did both procedures together. Best call!) She is a kind, experienced physician, who listens to her patients and ensures that they understand the procedures they are consenting to. Her staff and colleagues are the same way. 100% recommend her and her office. I still use West Coast OBGYN for my female healthcare and recommend the office to anyone looking for a physician.
