It took me 15 years to get a doctor to believe me that I had endometriosis even with a family history of it. Finally I found Dr. Prather who referred me to Dr. Yvonne Finrich who referred me to Dr. Stephen Groth and did exploratory surgery and confirmed I have stage 4 endometriosis. I had a full hysterectomy and oophorectomy with vaginal cuff. Unfortunately, the endometriosis grew on my intestines so now I will need further surgery. This could have been prevented had doctors listened to me sooner. Dr. Prather also listened to me about my Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, my malabsorption syndrome, and pending multiple myeloma cancer diagnosis with family history of cancer on both sides of my family. My father also has cancer and was exposed to agent orange from his time serving our country in the Vietnam War on the USS Enterprise ship that carried it. It is highly likely that my cancer came from his exposure. I highly recommend Dr. Prather who listens and isn't afraid to treat complex patients.
