Dr. Billow went above and beyond; I had been struggling with endometriosis since I was 11 years old. Debilitating irregular periods... to where I was continously bleeding for 16 months straight. I had been told by other OBGYNs to get it out of my head, that heavy period with period pain was normal, that feeling like you were getting torn apart during an exam even though you didn't jump because you were afraid to cause more damage... was normal. That low Iron and low ferritin was normal. To have a bloated belly, bleeding/spotting between periods, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, persistent lack of energy, Painful urination, increased frequency, or sometimes blood in urine... all normal lab results, so I shouldn't be concerned... but not Dr.Billow, her team and her took up the "this is not normal" mantel for me. I still have some issues after my full hysterectomy, but I'm not bleeding all the time which is a HUGE improvement. Dr. Billow and her team has ensured I got the help I needed from them (before and after the surgery) and helped me find other doctors with some lingering symptoms that might not be endometriosis based.
