My primary care doctor listened to me when I told her about my stomach pains and blood in my stool at the age of 44. She referred me to gastroenterology to get a colonoscopy that eventually lead to my stage 3b colon cancer dx. I’m thankful she didn’t blow off my symptoms as hemorrhoid’s or normal since I wasn’t old enough for a routine colonoscopy.
