I had bruising in the top of my feet. That was it. Nothing else. I felt a little silly going to the Dr but knew something was wrong. I had leukemia. It presents with all the same signs/symptoms as perimenopause. He believed me when I said that wasn't what was happening and something was wrong. But I didn't know what and didn't feel bad.. I have a rare leukemia called Hairy Cell. It's 2% of all leukemias and 7 x s more prevalent in men with only 700 cases for men and women in the U.S. per year. He's a hero. Even the oncologist, ANOTHER WOMAN, he sent me to, thought it was because I drank wine at dinner. She dismissed me and told me to follow up with blood work in a month or so. She was convinced it was wine causing my issues. The fight to be heard I real. Especially within other women.
