Dr. Israeli is a plastic surgeon, but has a special expertise and compassion for breast reconstruction for cancer patients. I don't know how he continues to maintain his patience and level of compassion, it's truly astounding. He spent so much time explaining all treatment options including ones no one else offered; cutting-edge options including nerve grafting to restore sensation and Magtrace to minimize the risk associated with lymph node testing. (Neither were offered by Sloan Kettering at least at the time). He is an artist and perfectionist, while also respecting patient's preferences. Unlike many plastic surgeons, he is never defensive if your opinion differs from his or if want a revision. The hospitals refer to him and Dr. Erna Busch-Deveraux (oncology surgeon) as the "Dream Team" for breast cancer surgery and reconstruction and I couldn't agree more. Years later I can't express the love I have for this truly incredible human
