Last year I experienced the incredibly rare side effect of spontaneous orgasms caused by Welbutrin. Every doctor and nurse kept dismissing my experience and even telling me I should I just enjoy what was going on. I almost caused multiple car accidents, had several embarrassing incidents in front of work colleagues, friends, and family members, and was having 10-20 per day. It got to a point that it was physically painful and had turned to Charlie horses. Anyways, after being dismissed by yet another nurse over the phone that what I was experiencing was a dream and couldn’t be that bad, I advocated for myself and got in that day instead of waiting a month like she tried to make me do. He took me very seriously as he had heard of this side effect happening once before, he spoke with colleagues, ordered tests to ensure it wasn’t anything more serious, and ordered me off of the medication and followed up to ensure that that was the true cause. While everyone else dismissed me and tried to gaslight me into thinking my plight was something to enjoy he took me seriously and got to the bottom of it.
