Pelvic PainRare Disease ExperienceComplex Medical CasesListens & Believes PatientsShared Decision MakingThorough & InvestigativeAfter my interventional radiologist who placed my stent for May Thurner Syndrome, she did not feel that placing coils for my pelvic congestion caused by MTS was necessary at that time since she believed it would resolve due to stent placement. I was still experiencing pelvic and leg vascular symptoms but duplex ultrasounds were not picking up reflux in my legs so she wanted to pass it off to another specialist as possible complex regional pain syndrome. I appreciated her help she already gave me but I knew it was not the right call. I searched for years to find a doctor who would listen and who got creative in the process. I met Dr Dejah Judelson and she did all of that and more. She is very kind, thorough, up to date on pelvic congestion and compression syndromes and is not afraid to investigate if warranted. She agreed with me that it could be pelvic congestion getting worse like I suspected, so we did a venogram with ivus. She found a cluster of deep pelvic reflux veins and coiled them off for me. I couldn't even do the dishes or sit for thirty minutes or more without pain and swelling in my groin and legs before coils. My pain is now gone as a result of her taking me seriously and investigating when others refused. She is a very knowledgeable and wonderful physician who truly listens.
