BLUF: SPARK has made more of a difference in my pain and aided my recovery faster and cheaper than traditional Physical Therapy clinics and numerous visits to doctors did. Carlos and his team are top notch. Be ready to put in the work, and the results will speak for themselves. Plus, they’re dog friendly! What’s not to love? FULL REVIEW: I’m so grateful to have found SPARK and Carlos’ team. I went to see them after multiple years of referrals to various types of doctors and specialists from 2022-2024. I received many scans and tests, and went to four separate Physical Therapy Clinics before finding them. One doctor I saw suggested an invasive surgery that he was SURE I needed, but a second opinion at John’s Hopkins did not agree. With nothing left to do pretty much everyone gave up on me. I developed anxiety attacks and I felt helpless pretty much all of the time. The PT clinics I went to prior kept insisting I would get better if I kept doing the exercises they prescribed. There were times where those exercises would cause pain in other areas of my body, but the PTs would explain to me that those pains were not able to be addressed because the insurance would not allow that nor pay for it. I did my exercises as religiously as possible, but I did not have much improvement in my pain or symptoms. After a while I would be discharged. The first time this happened, the PT looked apologetic, but told me that he could “not keep justifying the visits to the insurance”. The discharge felt very final and extremely scary because I could not function well and I was still in pain. So, I found a new clinic…and then had a slightly different repeat of this situation a number of times. I had actually found SPARK through google reviews in 2023 which was about a year before I ACTUALLY went to see them in 2024. At the time I did not feel that I could afford their pricing. Little did I know that I was not only very far from being better, but that I would actually lose more muscle and more ability by the time I ended up going to them. By mid-2024 I had exhausted all other avenues. I felt nervous to go to a cash PT clinic because my experience elsewhere had not been good. Why pay more money for the same outcome right? I decided that SPARK was my last resort. Well, with Carlos’ team, I FINALLY experienced care that truly made a difference to my well-being. During the free, 15 minute consultation by phone I explained what I had been through while they listened carefully and asked questions to make sure they understood. After I hung up the phone I felt hopeful, but also emotionally drained. During my hour-long evaluation, I was told to move in different ways and received explanations for possibilities of why I wasn’t able to function properly and I was told that they could help me. I felt hopeful, but secretly I wasn’t really sure that they could. It felt dangerous to put my trust in another clinic and another practitioner. SPARK delivered. I might never be fully better, because once something is broken it’s never quite the same. However, I am so much better than when I started with them. Carlos has built something very beautiful and I’m in awe of his team. SPARK made a bigger impact on my recovery than all the other providers combined. Let that sink in for a moment. IF patients are willing to put in the hard work with SPARK, THEN they will get better faster and avoid the emotional stresses that I went through. For me, with a multi-year issue prior to visiting SPARK, it took two months before I started to notice that my capabilities at home were increasing. I wasn’t better in two months, but I could see a glimmer of light at the end of a very long tunnel. The kicker is that SPARK could have helped me faster and for less money than all of my previous Physical Therapy and doctor visits. Don’t make the same mistake I did...go make an appointment at SPARK!!!
