Dr. Lau was the first rheumatologist I ever saw. In advance of our appointment, I sent him a brief document summarizing the issues bringing me to his office. He showed up to the appointment with the document printed out and spent a full hour going over symptoms, doing a workup, and discussing recommendations with me. He was honest about the limits of his knowledge about connective tissue disorders. He never made me feel rushed or invalidated, as has been the case with so many providers. He typed thorough, correct clinical notes summarizing our visit, which have helped me immensely on my journey of seeking care.
