He listens to your symptoms and lived experience. You can be honest with him! I had done a tilt table test 15 years prior to seeing him for suspected POTS and was told my results were inconclusive and dismissed with no help or treatment. Within my first appointment he suspected POTS was causing my tachycardia and lightheadedness. The first thing they do after you are taken back to the room is get a sitting, laying, then standing blood pressure and pulse reading. He ordered a 2 week continuous heart monitor just to be certain nothing else was going on. I was able to get diagnosed and start a treatment plan along with medication by my third visit. Dr. Berstein has a very warm presence, especially if you let him know you are nervous. He is an incredibly intelligent AND kind man. That is truly rare to find in a specialist. On top of knowing cardiology like no other, he will try to relax you by sharing precious stories about his childhood sweetheart who has been his wife for many years. Dr. Bernstein is a gem in the cardiology department. He changed my life for the better!
