Dr. Erna Busch-Deveraux is a Breast Surgeon for cancer patients. I don't know how she continues to maintain her patience and level of compassion, it's truly astounding. She offered treatment options including ones no one else offered; cutting-edge options including nerve grafting to restore sensation and Magtrace to minimize the risk associated with lymph node testing. (Neither were offered by Sloan Kettering at least at the time). Despite many Long Islander's assumption that MSK and other city-based doctors may be "the best", make at least a consult with her. She offered options and compassion that I did not experience at these other highly recommended places. The hospitals refer to her and Dr. Ron Israeli (plastic surgeon) as the "Dream Team" for breast cancer surgery and reconstruction and I couldn't agree more.
