I was very hesitant to see a male doctor when I was pregnant in 2021. Dr. Hoffman was the best resource throughout my pregnancy and validated all of my experiences, positive and negative. I was VERY overweight, and not once did he shame me about it or try to make me feel bad about it. When it was time for me to get my tubes removed, he discovered that I had endometriosis. I was 30 and had no idea, since I had been on birth control for 13 years and just thought periods were supposed to be painful once I stopped taking birth control. He let me know my options, and I chose to ride it out for now until the discomfort became too difficult to manage.
