A friend recommended Dr. McGann when I was seeking a second opinion. My own, longtime gyn would not offer a hysterectomy as an option to address my postmenopausal bleeding. I am 4 years postmenopausal and am high-risk for developing endometrial hyperplasia. My gyn would only recommend increasing my oral progesterone or inserting a hormonal IUD, both of which would necessitate ongoing monitoring by ultrasound and potentially repeated endometrial biopsies. I stated my preference for a hysterectomy and was told this was not an option for me. Dr. McGann reviewed my records, listened to my request and told me, without hesitation, that hysterectomy was absolutely a reasonable option if it was my preference.
