I was believed, asked questions, educated, and had a two-way conversation. My likely sleep apnea diagnosis was not totally attributed to weight and brushed aside with advice to lose weight; in fact, he told me weight loss can be very difficult with untreated sleep apnea. Being an obese woman, we become accustomed to being ignored, but I felt very seen and heard.
