I spent several years trying to get diagnosed for a group of severe symptoms that were seemingly random and would had a seemingly rapid & random onset and would leave me incapacitated for days or in the ER. After a horrendous experience with an allergist calling me a liar, I never considered another allergist. Finally, after several years, and getting diagnosed with numerous health disorders, but non of which fully explained my symptoms, someone suggested I get tested for a rare medical disorder. So, I found a different allergist in a different city, and made an appointment. As soon as Dr. Lee realized what I was there for, she started asking several questions about numerous other things that I didn't even realize we're connected. I started answering yes, hesitantly, expecting her to tell me I was wrong, and couldn't have this disorder if I had these other symptoms. Instead, she explained that yes, I likely did, and took the time to explain what it was in great detail, what symptoms looked like, how it was diagnosed, and how it was treated, as well as providing excellent resources. Since then, she has been regularly treating me and has been absolutely wonderful! My symptoms are far more under control, and I learned about lifestyle changes that have made a world of difference! She's never tried to rush me out of her office, even if I have a host of questions, and doesn't object to me recording our appointments, as brain fog & poor memory are common side effects with my condition.
