EndometriosisHysterectomy-FriendlyEDS / HypermobilityTrans-AffirmingAccepts MedicaidLGBTQ+ FriendlyDr. Piszczek performed my gender affirming hysterectomy, and diagnosed me with mild endometriosis in the process. As per our plan ahead of time, all of the endometriosis was removed during surgery so I hopefully became endometriosis free at the time of diagnosis too! Dr. Piszczek was also incredibly well informed about my EDS going into surgery, both for what my needs would be during the procedure as well as what kind of modifications I would need to my recovery plan after. She was absolutely incredible to work with professionally, and so respectful to me as a trans person. I chose to keep my ovaries for backup hormones, and she was very kind about making sure I knew I could still come to her for OBGYN related needs should there be any reason to, and gave me some examples of what that could be. Patient dignity, comfort, and understanding were such clear priorities to her, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience in such a vulnerable moment.
