I have had overly frequent periods since I was 14. Around age 40 my hormones shifted and I no longer felt okay on hormone birth control. Upon stopping birth control my cycle returned to 4 to 5 days of heavy bleeding with only 2 weeks between periods and occasionally break thru spotting. I was referred to Dr Hodge last fall after about a year of testing, ruling out everything my GP could think of. Dr Hodge tentatively diagnosed adenomyosis and recommended a total hysterectomy/salpinectomy/oopherectomy. I’m nearly 3 weeks post op using estradiol gel and I haven’t felt this good since I was a teenager. I no longer experience the extreme swings of PMDD (a diagnosis that was never shared with me, I found it in my chart a few of years ago). She has listened to me at every step, I felt SEEN. I never once felt like I had to advocate for myself to her. Adenomyosis was confirmed by pathology. She literally fixed me and I can’t recommend her enough!
