Dr. Sogunro was my breast oncology surgeon. I had 5 biopsies as new concerns became evident and while radiologists wanted to “watch and monitor” she refused to take chances on my diagnosis. She advocated for more aggressive treatments, brought me to the tumor board to confirm her approach, and every “hunch” she had where other doctors weren’t concerned, she was right. Including steering me toward a double mastectomy that revealed more cancer that never showed up on imaging. She gave me the hard truths and hugged me up before each surgery. She saved my life.
