I started seeing Dr. Harkins after finding out I was pregnant for the third time (my first two pregnancies were “missed miscarriages” that required abortions, and both experiences with my prior (female) doctor were awful), so naturally I was terrified to have to go through all of that again with someone new. But from the moment I met Dr. Harkins, I immediately felt at ease (despite initially being incredibly skeptical of having a male OBGYN). He used his decades of experience as both an OBGYN and as a father to calm my anxiety and make me feel like everything was going to be okay. And although my pregnancy was high risk, I was way more at ease throughout the entire thing than I thought I’d be, and that’s 100% because of him. Dr. Harkins ended up not being the one to deliver my twins because he wasn’t on call that day, but he still came to my room the next day to check on me and to tell me how proud he was of me 🥹. He is truly the best, and I’ll forever be grateful for him.
